of Knoxville's founder, still standing proudly after all these years.
Capture the true feeling of the period as you see and touch the
furnishings, tools and other artifacts that were once a part of
our ancestors' daily lives.
Also learn about the founding of Knoxville and the key role the
James White Fort played in creating this great city.
James White is buried along with the city's other founders including
William Blount and Reverend Samuel Carrick. Rev. Carrick was First
Presbyterian Church's first pastor and the first president of
the present day University of Tennessee.
The First Presbyterian Church and Cemetery is located at 620 State
Street in downtown Knoxville just blocks away from James White
Fort.

Saturday and Sunday by appointment only
